SUSTAINED SHOULDER RAISE

The shoulders sit higher than baseline for a prolonged period, often without the person being aware.

MEANS

Held tension. The body is bracing against expected stress.

CONTEXT

Common in people walking into difficult meetings, or sitting in environments they find threatening. The shoulders drop slowly as the person relaxes. Their final resting position tells you how comfortable they have become.

NOT

A cold-induced hunch.
