FOREHEAD RAISE
Both eyebrows rise, producing horizontal lines across the forehead.
Surprise, interest, or a request for confirmation. The forehead is the body’s social billboard.
A deliberate raise during speech invites agreement. The brief, involuntary version on hearing news is surprise. A sustained raise during another person’s speech is skepticism — “really?” — and is often unconscious.
A startle response, which is faster and involves the whole face.
