SQUINT
The eyelids narrow and the muscles around the eyes tighten.
Skepticism, scrutiny, or disagreement. The person is examining something more closely — often a claim, not an object.
A subtle but reliable indicator. Often appears for a fraction of a second when someone hears a statement they doubt. Sustained squinting is a sign of ongoing skepticism. Habitual squinters develop visible lower-eyelid wrinkles over time.
A reaction to bright light or screen glare.
