BLINK RATE DROP
A noticeable decrease in blinks per minute, falling as low as 3–5 from the conversational baseline.
Focus and engagement. The person is absorbed in what is being said or shown.
A speaker’s job is to lower the audience’s blink rate. A high blink rate in an audience means attention is drifting. Drop signals are useful in negotiation: a sudden drop means you have hit something the other party cares about.
A stare. Drop signals are accompanied by natural micro-movements; a stare is fixed.
