FINGER INTERLACE

The fingers of both hands woven together, often resting on a surface or in the lap.

MEANS

Restraint or contained anxiety. The person is holding themselves in place.

CONTEXT

Note the tension. Light interlace with relaxed knuckles is neutral. Tight interlace with whitened knuckles is high stress. Often appears in people trying to remain composed during a difficult conversation.

NOT

Prayer hands, which press the palms flat together without weaving the fingers.
