ARMS CROSSED LOOSE

Both arms cross the chest casually, often with one hand resting on the opposite forearm.

MEANS

Often nothing. A common comfortable resting position.

CONTEXT

Popular literature treats all arm crossing as defensive. The research does not support this. Loose crossing is frequently just a comfortable position, especially in people standing without a place to put their hands. Read tightness, not just position.

NOT

Tight crossing, which is signal-bearing.
