Uncertainty about what is being said, often when the person is fabricating or hedging. Distinct from a bilateral shrug.
A strong signal in interviews. When someone makes a confident statement and one shoulder rises, the certainty is performed. Catch it; do not call attention to it. Adjust your follow-up questions accordingly.
