NOSTRIL FLARE
The nostrils widen, drawing in more air.
Preparation for action. The body is increasing oxygen intake, usually for fight or exertion.
Common in moments of suppressed anger or before physical confrontation. Also appears in athletes about to compete. In a difficult conversation, nostril flare paired with jaw clench is a strong sign the person is preparing to push back hard.
Normal breathing during exercise or congestion.
