WATCH ADJUST

The fingers fiddle with a watch — turning it, sliding it along the wrist, or fastening and unfastening the strap.

MEANS

Stress or a wish to leave. Sometimes a literal time-check.

CONTEXT

A combined signal: the body checks the time (wants to go) while the hand soothes (is stressed). Common in obligatory social settings. The frequency increases as discomfort grows.

NOT

A genuine time-check.
