ASYMMETRIC DISTANCE
Two people sit or stand at noticeably unequal distances from a shared point — for example, one person closer to the centre of a table than the other.
Status difference, comfort imbalance, or one person’s wish to engage more than the other.
Whoever is closer is claiming more of the space or the conversation. A common signal in meetings — note who sits closest to the speaker, the screen, or the food. The closer person is the more engaged.
Physical seating constraints.
