TERRITORIAL SPREAD
One person’s belongings — papers, phone, jacket, drink — spread across more shared space than seems necessary.
Territorial claim. The person is marking the area as theirs.
Common in meetings, on planes, and at shared tables. A confident or dominant person spreads; an uncertain one consolidates. Note who claims what, and watch what happens when someone else attempts to use the claimed space.
An unconscious mess in a personal space.
