RAPID NOD
The head moves up and down quickly, often three or more times in succession.
A wish for the speaker to finish, or polite social agreement without engagement.
Counterintuitively, fast nodding often signals less agreement than slow nodding. The rapid version is an interrupter — “yes, yes, I get it, can I speak now.” Common in impatient listeners.
Enthusiastic agreement, which is paired with other openness signals.
