SNEER
One side of the upper lip lifts, exposing the canine tooth and creating a slight wrinkle at the side of the nose.
Contempt or disgust toward the subject of conversation. A strong, hostile signal.
Closely related to the half-smile but more pronounced. The lip movement is involuntary and brief. Pair with raised eyebrows and a head tilt for confident reading. The sneer is one of the strongest predictors of relationship breakdown in long-term research.
A grimace of pain.
