HALF SMILE
Only one side of the mouth lifts, while the other remains neutral or pulls down.
Contempt or smugness. A genuine smile is bilateral; a one-sided smile signals a sense of superiority.
One of the few facial signals associated specifically with contempt. Visible in court footage, debate clips, and moments of disagreement. A consistent half-smile in a relationship predicts difficulty.
A natural asymmetry. Some people’s resting smiles are uneven. Read the change, not the resting state.
